Everyone will be saved
Again, this position is directly contrary
to the clear teaching of Scripture. To the reprobate,
Jesus said, "Depart from me, you who are cursed,
into eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels…Then
they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous
to eternal life."24
I am of the Jewish faith, and
we don’t believe in Jesus
It is a wonderful thing to belong to
the people whom God himself chose to be his people under
the Old Covenant. Consider how Jesus Christ fulfilled
the Messianic promise God made to Abram:
I will make you into a great
nation
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.25
Out of Abraham came Israel, and out
of Israel came the Messiah, through whom all the nations
are being blessed. Already, well over a billion people
from countless tribes and nations all over the world
have come to faith in Jesus Christ as Messiah of Israel
and Savior of the world.
Consider how Jesus Christ alone has
perfectly fulfilled the 300 messianic prophecies of
the Old Testament. He alone was born of a Virgin in
Bethlehem, rejected and betrayed for 30 pieces of silver,
scourged and crucified for the sins of the world, and
then rise triumphant from the dead ascending to the
right hand of power, drawing even the Gentiles into
the kingdom and establishing the new covenant of grace
promised to Israel.26
Logically, believing in the Old Covenant necessarily
means believing in the New Covenant because the Old
not only leads up to the New, it actually contains it
as part of its revelation: “The time is coming,”
declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with
the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It
will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers
when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband
to them,” declares the Lord. “This is the
covenant I will make with the house of Israel after
that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put
my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God, and they will be my people…”27
