Invitation

Heaven forbid, but if you found yourself charged with some offense, two things are certain. First, your goal would be to emerge with a Not Guilty finding if at all possible. Second, you would do whatever was necessary to obtain the best possible attorney. You would go to great lengths because the stakes would be so high. If the stakes are high with respect to temporal matters, how much more in relation to things eternal.

The New Testament presents the Lord Jesus Christ as the Advocate, the Lawyer of lawyers, if you will: "And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."20 He alone is able to intercede for us in such a way as to guarantee that we will emerge Not Guilty in the eyes of the Court. God’s gracious invitation to receive forgiveness, reconciliation and eternal life extends to everyone who will accept it. Let me invite you now to receive this greatest and most precious of all gifts.

If you will turn to the Lord Jesus Christ with repentant faith, he promises you forgiveness and abundant life in this world and in the next. If this expresses the desire of your heart, pray this way:

Lord Jesus,

I believe that you came into the world to die for my sins. I thank you for your great sacrifice, and I repent of my sins, and receive you now as my Lord and Savior.
